Old Deer

Today's letter is O. So here's a selection of photos from the pretty Central Buchan village of Old Deer. Can you spot the old postbox? And the old kirk? And the old folk's housing? I think I've made my point. It is one of the older villages in the area. A recent archaeological dig found evidence that there had been a settlement there since mediaeval times, although it was looking for older evidence of the Celtic monastery where the Book of Deir was written. Some local people believe the old kirk is built on that site, but there's no proof - yet!
