Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Quiet day

Well it should have been, but as ever I never quite managed it.
Today is the 16th anniversary of my dad's death. The extra shows me with him, aged between 4 and 5 outside the door of his mum's drapery shop in Mill Street in Liverpool. I used one of those colouring apps on it, as it was taken in the'50s, so black and white.
My dress was a present for my 4th birthday from my Godmother. I still remember the excitement of it arriving at our house in Broxburn in a big box from Lewis's in Liverpool, I'd never had such a thing and when I opened it, it was all packed inside with tissue. I kept the box for years. The dress was a special party dress, it was pale blue and had little pink flowers embroidered on the top layer and a tulle underskirt. I loved that dress. The colours in the picture are pretty true I think .
My main blip is the view from the first floor of the St James Centre looking down towards Leith and over the Forth towards Fife. The curved building on the corner of Elm Row is one of my favourites.
I was in town for my massage at Lewis's, it was just what I needed and as I passed the counter afterwards, I was called in to have a free mini facial, so I came home feeling great. I reckon I smelt pretty good too!

Back blipped.
