Dove Stone

A parcel was due to arrive this evening, so MrM suggested a late-afternoon walk so we'd be back by the time it arrived. We went to yet another reservoir - Dove Stone, which is managed by the RSPB - and did the short (about 4km) circular walk around the reservoir. We saw very few birds or wild flowers, but it's a lovely walk through a dramatic landscape. At the end we treated ourselves to ice cream from the conveniently placed van in the car park.

It was perfect weather for walking, warm and dry, but on the way home the rain started. It was unexpected (and not forecast) and didn't last for long, but there was no need to water the garden this evening!
