Lucy - 'The Year of the Cat'

Let me introduce you to the newest member of my extended family - Lucy. She is a rescue cat and was brought in along with her kittens to Cats Protection. It's reckoned she was abandoned and is still a young cat. She has spent over six months with the charity where she was looked after wonderfully, but it's not the same as having her own pad.

She's been over two weeks now at my daughter's and is settling in beautifully in their town house - lots of stairs! This weekend is the next stage when she will be introduced gradually to the garden and the great outdoors. She's a very lively and curious animal and will love exploring the little fenced-off copse at the end of the garden. There's always a worry about getting lost, but it's part of returning her to a full and natural cat's life.

I've applied a crosshatch filter to give a slight painterly look. I like the surrounding wood textures, her shape echoing the curves of the guitar - and the intensity of those piercing cat's eyes !
