My day

Rego

The caravan was due for a registration check. Last year they said it needed some brake work done. We haven’t used it since then so have been looking for the closest repair shop which was in Lithgow. They have a van place in Bathurst but you need to book in 6 months in advance. I have been wanting rain for months and today it arrived (13mm). That made the hour trip to Lithgow pretty awful in the rain and mist. We stopped for breakfast at Maccas at 8.30 am. We quite like it occasionally.

The van was ready at 4pm so we tracked back and have just arrived home after dark. Funny enough they said the brakes were OK. That was 240km for the 2 trips.

I read a news article about semicolons today. To be honest I had no idea when they should be used if at all.  I don’t remember having grammar lessons at school and really find people who worry about such things can worry as I’m not going to. Life is too short. I’m definitely a numbers person and find the English language pretty difficult. In professional work or books I like to see good grammar but I’m not writing the content.

My sister and brother in law (Carol was my recent cruise buddy) live in Taree where they are having terrible floods. They have had over 500mm rain. They said their house was above flood level but they are isolated. It makes our 13mm seem pretty insignificant.
