My one and only shot taken all day - Steve Starling sporting his winter overcoat sitting high up in the neighbour's plum tree, soaking up the last of the day's rays.  He is looking rather gorgeous I have to admit.

D the plumber was round home all day putting in a replacement mains water pipe.  A house that's as old as the hills would not have had mains water when the original landowners built it.  In fact, I 'discovered' a well at the property a few years ago so assume they would have got their water using a bit of manpower to pump it up.  Whenever the house was first connected to the town's mains supply I'm not certain but wouildn't be at all surprised to find those same pipes have continued to serve the house over the years.  A few relatively minor leaks over the past few years have served as the impetus I needed to get the mains line replaced.......and that was done today.    A slightly bigger job than D the plumber expected but all good in the end.  So that now leaves no excuses for not tidying up that side of the garden......starting Monday! ;)
