All You Other Slim Shadys are just Imitating.
Not today we don't.
My little ladies, in their elderly years (both of them are 17) are finding the heat a little too much.
Si came home from the Allotment this morning, and found Bean, using her head and hiding it, in the wallflowers.
They have plenty of shady places to go... Cosmo, the Shed, the Jungle in the back yard. Strategically placed chairs providing shade. and lots of water bowls in shady spots.
When we came home tonight, we had dinner and then headed up to do the watering.
Si has worked wonders on the plot this last few weeks. (see extra) Posts replaced. Beds all fixed. Planting all done Covers on. He was distraught this morning to find a rabbit running around his potatoes.
He was even more distraught when we arrived tonight and it was back in there.
It was a teeny thing. We checked round the hole plot and we figure it must be squeezing under the gate - it ran straight for the gate when it heard us. Si made a temporary fix, (see extra) and hopefully the potatos will last til tomorrow, when he will extend the gate and hopefully stop any intruders.
14 watering cans each. Beetroot, Jersies, Peas, Cabbages, Caulis. Shallots, onions x 4 bed, Potatoes, Carrots, leeks, squash, onions, garlic, strawberries, and my flowers. I emptied my packet of last years poppy seeds on to my new flower bed. I think maybe a carpet of Poppies is en route.
One of my new dahlia's has come up - still waiting on two, but everything else seems to be rooting, and my newly purchased Artichoke is doing it's thing perfectly.
We had a lovely bimble around the whole allotment site tonight, it's a nice chill and the bird song as we got to the gate was magical.
Ready for bed!
