Buttercups and blue sky

Another lovely summer's day, and I had intended to do some gardening this afternoon while MrM went to a birthday bash for a well-known local guitar player. But he suggested I went with him, and just happened to mention that Jon Taylor would be there too, playing sax. He knows I like Jon's blues-y sax, so the gardening was put on the back burner.

It was a good afternoon, despite spending it in a room of full of (mostly) blokes whose entire topic of conversations seems to be guitars. The real cider helped!

Afterwards we went into the Asian supermarket for ingredients for MrM's curries before catching the bus homes. The trip took somewhat longer than anticipated. The first bus was to Hepworth, and MrM suggested getting off at the terminus so we could walk down a hill, rather than alighting at Holmfirth and walking up. There had been no indication at the bus station that the bus would be re-routed due to a road closure, and when we eventually got off there was quite a lengthy walk home. Quite a pleasant walk though, with some scenic views along the way...
