The Estuary of the River Kent.

A very long time since I have seen it so dry. The River is over the far side and is more like a large stream.
Here I am walking along the disused railway embankment from Arnside Station.
The old station buildings house the offices of the Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape Administration. They have set up a plant growing centre to help boost the population of endangered wild flowers and ferns. Mrs. K. has just delivered a batch of seedlings which she has grown at home. This afternoon she has to go to a meeting of the National Landscape Executive Committee so I shall have to entertain myself with Inspector Maigret.
