Ol' Red Eyes.

Found this colourful insect, collecting nectar presumably, on the thyme and marigolds just now; hand-held, so not the sharpest of shots but I don't think he was going to hang around while I set up the tripod! No idea what it is - can anyone help?

Another round of golf today, with friends Phil & Russell who couldn't make Tuesday's round. Managed to break 90 (gross), for the first time in ages and the clamour to lower my notional 28 handicap is growing!

Many thanks to all those who sent best wishes for Tess's Dad after his heart attack . I'm pleased to say he came out of hospital yesterday and seems to be recovering well ; strangely, the specialist has said he needs more salt and caffeine in his diet.
