Gannets

It’s our 30th wedding anniversary today.

We drove up to Whitby through the Yorkshire Wolds. Stunning countryside. Once there we went on a boat ride, had local fish and chips, explored the town and the jet shops then climbed the 199 steps to the abbey ruins.

We drove back via Scarborough stopping at RSPB Bempton for a walk along the cliffs on a bird hunt. We couldn’t find the puffins so I asked a couple with the biggest telescope if they knew where they were. They let me look through their lens to see one. How cute are they!

The bird watching boat trip we’d hoped to go on has been cancelled due to adverse conditions. That might have been my one and only puffin sighting.
