Starling

Lots of birds at the bird feeder at the moment. I caught this starling in the afternoon. Day off work today. Lazy morning and out for coffee with mum in the morning. Mum then headed home after lunch.

Before mum went, I got an email with scans of some photos I had taken with my dad's old SLR. I handed the film in to be developed last week. I'll pick up the prints later this week. I'm guessing the camera may not have been used for about 30 years, so my experiment with the camera was really to see if it still worked (and if I could work it!). I only got some photos from the roll of film as the shutter wasn't firing every time when I first started using it. Not surprising really, considering it hasn't been used in decades. It did seem to be firing more consistently towards end of the roll of film. But I'm really pleased with the photos I did get - I've put one in the extra. They tell me that the camera does still work. Next step, I think, is to hand it into a camera shop to get it cleaned and start using it in earnest. I'm just so pleased that I can use my dad's old camera.
