Dry ground and flax petals

A friend mentioned to me a couple of fields of flax nearby. I went to look for them today.
What I had forgotten or not known is that flax flowers bloom on a sunny morning , are pretty much over by mid day,  then the petals of those flowers drop off then a fresh lot bloom when the sun shines again. Not so much going on on an overcast afternoon!
Tomorrow morning is forecast to be sunny, so I’ll go back.
