Independence Day...

Today India celebrates 66 years of Independence...

This is our forth year here and have seen many changes... still lots to do

It's almost impossible to get close to India Gate today and with all the fencing and security it does not make a very attractive photograph...

I took this one in February this year when India Gate was closed due to the threat of protests... The gate is a focal point for those wishing to make a point or demonstrate strong public feeling.

This is one of the rare pictures I have where the Gate is clear and not completely crowded out... We were given special clearance to get a cheeky photo by the local police officers and soldiers, just for the price of a smile...
