Here goes...

Having been introduced to Blipfoto some time ago by mother dearest, Appreciate, I made the decision to start my own account just before my new chapter of life begins.
The time has now come to start 'blipping' as my last sleep in Maryfield creeps closer. For the past 12 years this house has been home for Mum and I, and for Pebbles, and it has always been somewhere I have loved to return to, whether it was from primary school, high school, after my year in South Africa or a visit from university. Heading to Nigeria is all the more daunting because Maryfield will no longer be here to return to - but as Mum settles into her new life in Millport, I know that she will make a new nest and find a new place to call home, just as I hope to do in Abuja, and I wish her luck in her new adventure.

This time tomorrow I'll be in Edinburgh Travel Lodge frantically checking the time every few hours just to make sure I haven't slept through my 4am check-in. But for tonight, it's a quiet night in, unpacking from the past 2 glorious weeks in Kenya and repacking for the next two years...

This photograph is a Good Luck card from a friend from university, Kitty, who came through to Edinburgh from St. Andrews on Friday when I arrived back from Kenya. Kitty was the very first friend I made at university in Aberdeen on day 1 of freshers week, and I love that we remained great friends for the entire 4 years. I wonder if the sweet shop she works in know that she used sweetie letters to make the card...
