Look Out

Clints and Grykes

A late morning walk around Gaits Barrow, taking in Little Hawes Water, Coldwell Meadow and Silverdale Moss. Everywhere is very dry, there aren’t many flowers for the very few butterflies. The land and life need water.

Late afternoon I took myself to Cartmel. The priory was closed, but I had an interesting walk around the village. It must have a small resident population, amazing there are so many pubs never mind two nationally renowned Michelin starred restaurants.

Then to Ulverston to see the Jess Gillam trio at The Coro. She’s a brilliant saxophonist and clearly loved in her home town. On the way to Ulverston I turned on the radio, and found I was listening to her weekly show ( which is good). Surreal.
