A different insect hotel!

This is an experimental insect hotel at Great Dixter in East Sussex. It was the home and garden of the late Christopher Lloyd, noted for his writings, gardening experimentation and championing of biodiversity. It is now a charitable trust and Grade One listed garden competently run by Fergus Garrett, my absolute gardening hero. I believe this idea in the picture was borrowed from Transylvania. I belong to the Friends and visit at least twice a year. End of May is the time to see the absolutely stunning wildflower meadows.
