The Fox and Anchor

Our all-day staff meeting today, in Smithfields.  It was a good day - nice to see everyone, and lots of interesting sessions, including a quiz, which my team won, hooray.  We had a 'social' for an hour afterwards at a pub nearby (the Butcher's Hook and Cleaver - well-named for the nearby meat market) - and then a load of us carried on to this other pub, the Fox and Anchor, near Charterhouse, to meet up with my old manager (and friend), Nicola.  It was such lovely weather, we didn't bother with the inside space that Terry had booked for us, and instead stood out on the pavement for hours.  I'd intended to leave by around 8 or 8:30pm, but could tell people were winding down by then, and talking about getting some food, which I was up for, so I hung on for the bitter end (about 9pm), and the last few of us walked back towards Farringdon and stopped at Leon for some much needed sustenance.  Carried on to Farringdon station after, said goodbye and caught the Lizzie Line back to Whitechapel, to get back to my hotel.
