Choir charity visit
E, P and I went to visit the Bradford Baby Bank today - one of the local charities supported by our Community Choir's donations. Well hidden away, the unit was stocked up with all manner of items which might be needed by new mums and babies referred by health visitors, social workers etc for help. We had a look around and met some of the amazing volunteers and the lady who started the charity - wonderful dynamic people who obviously care deeply. There was a cot full of packets of nappies which needed sorting. We were asked if we could help after a coffee. We were very willing to get hands on but after sitting and chatting to staff and hearing about some if the sad situations people find themselves in they needed to get in with things, so we left. We promised to watch their social pages for things which were needed for which we might be able to organize a special collection. It was only after we had got back outside that we realised that we hadn't sorted the nappies! Back to Bingley and I went to do some shopping before catching the bus back to the village. An interesting day.
