Dusk on Devil's Lake

The Lake at Dusk

The lake at dusk,
silverplaterewards you for a
day of rain.
Willows warp
The water's weft,
Shrouding light.
An old mirror
The surface clouds, water
Parallel above, below.
We walk the shore
Between the double weight
Of past and future rain.
Flotsam knits lake to shore,
A sneaker in the wash, upturned,
Paddles, paddles the sky.
