Going, going, gone

The crossing is to be closed to vehicle traffic permanently. The Rail authorities used the damage to the crossing to propose this, much to the annoyance of the local people. Despite long negotiations with the local council, they cannot be persuaded to keep it open. Whether pedestrians will continue to have access, I don't know. These levers have been in use for many years.
