Octaviano

Many things came together in the making of this shot...I had use again of
Fotodiario's cloak of invisibility when the shutter was pressed, and then was inspired by a combination of the Ilford When You're A Stranger project and KendallisHere, who nearly always goes for the story.

So here is Octaviano, an unusual name, who is originally from Albacete and is 82 years old. He retired 16 years ago from a 'silver-mongery' workshop in Poble Nou. The factory is still going strong and his work wasn't too arduous, not as much as that of the polishers, at least. He lives round the corner from this bench on Calle Condall in the centre of Barcelona where he likes to sit of an evening, and was happy to chat and give consent that his image be published on Blipfoto, at least with the possibility of being seen in 178 countries around the world's block.
