His “big, beautiful bill”

The Repubs in Congress are playing at governing again and getting ready to vote on the above bill next week. In the meantime, Dear Leader is jet setting around the Middle East making deals for golf course and tRump hotels…

Here’s a list, courtesy of the Post and others, of what that beautiful bill currently includes to further shred the little remaining social safety net in this country (can you say ‘robber barons’?):

- Remove 8.6 million people from Medicaid
- End $290 billion in food relief for hungry people
- Give $60 billion to farmers presumably to make up for income they’ll lose due to all the people who can’t buy food
- More spending to more-militarize America’s border with Mexico
- $45 billion to build detainee camps
- $14 billion to deport people with due or undue process
- $50+ billion to Viagra the border wall that Trump couldn’t get up last time because hey it happens to lots of presidents
- $150+ billion increase in military spending
- End student-loan forgiveness, putting millions of borrowers back on the hook for $295 billion
- New taxes on billionaires college endowments
- Remove some benefits for non-citizens, even those here legally
- Raise standard tax deductions for people over 65 but exclude Trump’s promise to end taxes on Social Security benefits
- Kill incentives to reward people such as you and other environmentally conscious people for using solar, wind, and renewable energy
- End the $7,500 tax credit for buying electric vehicles (I wonder how his buddy Muskrat feels about this?)
- Lease $20 billion worth of public lands in protected Alaskan wildlands and the Gulf of Mexico for oil and gas extraction even though, hello, Big Oil doesn’t want new drilling because the Trumpconomy has suppressed demand so much that the low price of gas makes new drilling unprofitable
- End tax credits for nonprofits that don’t support Trump
- $5 billion in tax credits using taxpayer money to fund private schools including ones that teach that God is real and does stuff but somehow doesn’t violate the laws of physics.
