The Early Bird Doesn’t always get the Worm

It’s the early BlueBird that gets the haar.
That was the penalty for getting to the beach at 7:30. Three hours later and the sky was blue from the here to yonder. Still, the bus was quick and the sea was warmer than of late even if the air temperature in the haar was chilly.

Now as I type this outside in the afternoon there is still the underlying cold sea breeze in competition with the heat of the sun but it is 16° and so I'm content with that. The thought that we could have had that haar lasting all day while the west coast swelters would have been too hard to bear.
The  students are once more carpeting the grass on the Meadows, but it must be difficult for them dealing with this heatwave when you have exams on the go.

I see and hear so much from where I am sitting at the moment  watching the world going by. There is a drummer in the distance keeping up an insistent drum beat lending a backing to the gaggle of voices of the sun worshipers over the railings and I have just seen a cat on a lead  being taken for a walk. It will soon be time for the resident dogs of which there are too  many in my opinion, to be trundled through the gardens, not necessarily for exercise. There are times when I wish I had my old garden with its high walls and privacy back in my life……… but then I wouldn’t be able to be a people watcher.
