Sally Mair - Loving life

Peonies

I made an appointment to meet with the Bishop today to discuss the selections we have made for interview and to check I was doing everything correctly. I'm not as up to date with employment law as I would like to be and would hate to make some awful mistakes so that the house of cards I feel like I'm living in at the moment, all fell down on top of me. All seems to be ok though. I wrote to all the candidates today, short listed or not, so that's another job done. All but two have responded so far, one I may not hear from as the application was unsuccessful, the other I hope to hear from tomorrow otherwise I'm going to have to phone to check the message and interview details have got through.
After my meeting with the Bishop, I came home and wrote my piece for the church magazine, keeping people up to date with both the rectory and the recruitment process.
Colin's cousin then came round and we went for lunch at Craigies Farm. It won't be long till I'm up there picking fruit. I'm looking forward to their cherries all ready.
I did some rushing around after lunch then we set to to make sure the spare room was ready for our American guests who arrive tomorrow. They flew into London today and are taking the train north in the morning. We're looking forward to having them here.
The peonies in my blip came as a bunch with some white stocks, from Waitrose. They are just beautiful, such luxurious flowers.
Talking of Waitrose, I had just got out of the lift when I heard a voice saying "Hallo Grandma, You look nice". There were Eilidh, who had spoken, Isobel and Jon on their way to the car park. It brought home to me just how very blessed we are to have them living so close that we can bump into them by accident in the supermarket. There were smiles all around as I got into the lift and chatted as they went up to the car park. I then came back down and did my shopping with a smile in my heart!
I hope you all have a smile in your hearts very soon, it feels good.
