Rockport

Headed up to the gorgeous seaside town of Rockport today. Ate lobster for lunch, had a wander around the shops and then spent the afternoon on the little beach there.

We watched the film Jaws last night as it was filmed at Cape Cod where we are heading tomorrow. Our friends reassured us that there were no sharks at Rockport however when we arrived on the beach everyone had been pulled out of the water due to a shark sighting! Eventually the lifeguard deemed it ok to go back in so us girls decided to swim out to the raft that was moored out in the water. Suddenly we heard the lifeguard blowing his whistle to get everyone out the water so we turned back and very quickly swam to the shore. And sure enough there was a shark about 25m up the beach from where we were sat! Got a good view of its fin as it swam about in the shallow waters! Eeeeek! Apparently it was 'only' a harmless Sand Shark but we didn't fancy going back in the water after that!
