Ours is not a large street. In fact, it's called a Close meaning that it's a cul de sac. There's no way out at the other end.

We've been used to vans and cars racing round the close then coming to a stop when the drivers realise this.

At 11.30 this morning, a large truck and trailer carrying a huge container, threatened to come down our drive.

David and Peter, alarmed by the potential damage to their driveways and gardens went out to speak to the driver who had started to try and reverse down the road. Unfortunately for him, it's a very bendy road but he must have got out because the vehicle had gone by midday.

The photo shows a number plate from a foreign country, so he probably didn't know about English cul de sacs.

Early afternoon, we set off for Queens Park in Loughborough to hear the LSU concert band at the bandstand. It was very pleasing to see so many people there.

Margaret rolled up on her mobility scooter at the end of the concert. Haven't see her for years. I was stunned to see how much she had aged but she's in fine fettle.

The extra is of an evaporating cloud I saw above where we were sitting.
