Grey seals resting
It was a warmish cloudy day as we set off for Godrevy, one of my favourite locations in this area. It was a beautiful sight as the sprint flowers were out with sea thrift blooming among the edges of the cliffs, tiny blue spring squill amongst some of the fields, bluebells, cowslips and many birds. As we wandered around we came across a group of shags nesting high in the cliffs and then further around the corner a group of grey seals. They were difficult to spot at first as they were nestled amongst the rocks until one moved. We stayed some time watching and listening to their calls. So lovely to see. We continued our walk over the cliffs finding more spring flowers and then retraced our steps. By now the sun had come out and the tide was coming in, the seals were more obvious as a group on the sand. We stood again to watch them before heading back to our car.
We returned to St Ives and enjoyed a very good meal in an Italian restaurant.
