Layers of life

We had a good crossing,watched the sun set over the oil/gas platforms as we approached the Dutch coast and finally tied up in Ijmuiden marina at 3am. 19 hours was not bad !
You get a great view across the marina towards a big wall beyond which are beach huts and a lovely sandy beach.Across the North Sea canal the huge steel works can be seen for miles as it belches out its steam continuously. It is now owned by the Indian giant company Tata.
