With Paul Young and Jamie Moses

We had an enjoyable night at the Babbacombe Theatre - an intimate evening with Paul Young. THE Paul Young. In person, the real thing. Not a tribute, a bandwagon jumper, a copycat, or a look alike. And he was good. After all he is still young, ten years younger than me, and still got charisma, and his good looks. The image on the screen does not do him justice. I did detect a familiar careful hesitant walk on the stage but that was the only sign he was a member of our tribe, and the lights were low on this simple stage setting. Paul seemed to be a very modest man, and was an entertaining speaker. He was accompanied by Jamie Moses, second guitarist for Queen and Brian May for many years, and a former member of Mike and the Mechanics. It was a nostalgic mixture of stories of his life mixed with video memories and live performance of some familiar songs. Excellent musicianship. Our youngest son bought the tickets as a birthday present for Jacqui. Probably wouldn’t have considered it otherwise but it was marvellous.
