Early Morning

I was surprised how clearly the shot came out as the Sun was very low on the horizon so was peering through a thick layer of atmosphere. These two groups, AR1818 and AR1817 are developing quite quickly and Spaceweather are reporting that AR1817, the lower of the two groups, harbours energy for X class flares. As it is now directly Earth facing and flares would be targeted directly at us. As ever though, the Sun is unpredictable so whilst the potential is there, it could of course all come to nothing. It would be a treat to see aurora from an X class flare though!
