Saturday stuff

Well I went to bed fairly early (for me) and was up early then. I spoke to Terry early on and he had a bad night again. He had bloods taken early morning and the doctor was not pleased with the intravenous fluid regime as he told the nurses that Terry is still dehydrated and to put the fluids through a pump (flow is better regulated). What he probably didn't know is that last night the nurse brought in a bag of fluid for Terry and plonked it down on the chair, ready to connect it when the antibiotic bag had finished but the trouble is she never went back to connect it - Terry never saw her again all night. Terry is far too polite - if it had been me I'd have buzzed till someone came to connect it! His oxygen sats were 94% while I was visiting this afternoon which is a slight improvement but his sats are usually 99%
He asked for pain relief while I was there and the care assistant said she'd ask the nurse and she did go to ask but the pain relief did not arrive after half an hour and I volunteered to go the nurse station and ask but Terry didn't want me to do that so he remained in pain and was still waiting when I went home. I rang him from home after a while and he still had no pain relief but eventually got some after asking again. It's upsetting seeing your partner in pain and no pain relief coming.
He had shepherd's pie for lunch but couldn't eat at teatime as no appetite. His abdomen looked a bit more distended than yesterday which was concerning but his temp was only slightly raised and apparently his blood tests are improving.
One of Terry's sisters visited today and yesterday one of his sons did.
I've been cleaning at home before going to visit. It's been quite hot today but with a stiff breeze.
Fed the hedgehog(s) and watered the pot plants in the back garden but was too tired (or maybe I just couldn't be ar*ed) to do the ones in the front garden so they will have to wait till tomorrow morning.
Not done a walk today but still managed to do 8,000 steps.
I meant to take a photo of some of the flowers in the hospital grounds (Whiston Hospital) where Terry is when I was leaving but forgot. I might remember tomorrow and may also take some of the fossils in the flags near the main entrance. They are plentiful.
I'm drinking some red wine now but doubt I'll be up much longer.
The photo is one of our azaleas in the back garden and we have some lovely ones at present.
