Good day Friday
Well that was quite a day!
The morning was taken up with having the new A/C unit fitted in my guest bedroom. The fitters arrived less than ten minutes after I got back from taking Rufus for his morning walk. Lucy, my neighbour, had taken Tramp for a walk earlier as I can't manage them both at the same time.
With the new unit very neatly installed, Lucy and I took the Dolmus (mini bus) in to Didim where I finally bought a new sofa to replace the one currently in my lounge which is like sitting on concrete. Couldn't really justify the expense last year with newly moving in 'n' all, but I decided last last week that it is a 'must buy'. So I did. Gotta laugh though - when I was looking at new armchairs in Essex a couple of months ago , I was told delivery time was twelve weeks. Today, at about 2pm when I was buying the sofa, I asked when it could be delivered. The salesman looked at his watch and said "five o'clock". Gotta love Turkey.
Lucy and I went to Park Cafe for a late lunch and then took the dolmus back to Akbuk. We were almost there at 4.30 when my phone rang - it was the delivery men with my sofa!
With the new sofa in situe, Lucy and I walked the two dogs (and took today's photo of these beautiful roses in someone's garden). Lucy takes Tramp and I have Rufus of course. We've been doing this for the last few days - Tramp hasn't settled as well as we might have hoped, for various significant reasons, including that he is an ardent cat hater so walking the two dogs by myself is tricky as he dashes off every time he sees a street cat.
John and Janice were already on my terrace when Lucy and I got back from dog walking at about 6.15 having come from Fevzi Pasa where I used to live. After making them test tryout sit on my new sofa and admire the new air con unit, (both tasks accomplished enthusiastically) we three + Rufus walked to the sea front to have Friday night fish and chips at Taş restaurant, where we found Norma and Hamish already at an adjacent table where they were joined a little later by Jackie, Nick and their newly arrived visiting friends.
What a lovely evening to round off a good day.
