Quod oculus meus videt

Final Morning

A completely different start to the day and I was up early enough to be in position as the sun rose over the lone tree at Malham Rakes. I appreciate I posted a shot for the same tree a couple of days ago but I've always said that you need to revisit locations in different conditions to fully appreciate the possibilities.

After breakfast we walked up to the cove as the RSPB and Parks Authority had set up a viewing area for the peregrine falcons. Not as close as I got yesterday, but it was interesting to talk to the experts. Sadly the nest has failed this year. The chicks have died, though they're not sure why.

We headed across to Sheffield to drop in on our nephew and his wife, and their two children, firstly to give the eldest child birthday presents, but also to meet the youngest daughter again. We stopped off at Hebden Bridge for a quick look around. An interesting little area, but oh so hilly. Amazing that a canal was built through the area.

We finally got home just after 11 pm.
