Catch 22

I thought it worthwhile contacting JMAPs (the out-sourced organisation that our NHS trust deals with) to check my position in the queue to get the scan. After 20 minutes with Muzak ear worms I got through to find they are still dealing with referrals from 12 March, the same date as when I phoned 4 weeks ago. Then I phoned the private hospital to see what I needed to do to get on their 2 week queue for one. I need a GP referral. Next I was in the surgery queue for 15 minutes and cut off. Tried later and reception said GP can’t make two referrals so I’d need to cancel the JMAPs one and I’d need the name of the consultant I wanted. I asked for GP advice and was told their next available phone appointment was 20 May. GP had emailed JMAPs yesterday but had no acknowledgement. So I got in the JMAP queue again to ask about that and found that the email had been received but not passed on. The person did that for me and said no guarantee I’d get anywhere but if I did I’d hear by middle of next week. So I’ve decided to wait to see what happens there before I go elsewhere. What a saga! I’m thinking it is cartilage so doing more ice packs and leg lifting.

I’ve finished the Elly Griffiths I got from Chris yesterday and I’m back on Martin Amis. Mostly it’s funny apart from his teeth saga. I finished watching Malpractice last night. Phew - hard work - Mr C couldn’t cope.
