Songsters perform
A busy day today, but I didn’t feel like I’d had a busy day. First thing I did was my usual bus check, then because of the timing I didn’t go home because my next event was only 45 mins later, or so I thought… I had decided to try a new hairdresser and decided I could fit it into my day. Unfortunately the hairdresser was running late and the weather was cold, so rather than potter around town to waste some time, I went a bit early for my appointment in the hope I could be seen a bit early. She was running late! At least it was warm in the salon. After that I dashed home, heated up some soup before rushing out again to get to my afternoon event. We were singing as part of the Anna Chaplaincy event. As well as the singing , afternoon tea was served by the organisers. When we were asked to do it, we hadn’t realised it was VE Day, so had prepared a selection of songs, but when we were told it was a VE Day event, we decided to continue with our programme, but to add a medley of wartime favourites. So we had a lively rendition of these well known songs in a singalong for everyone at the end of our programme.. Afterwards we got lots of compliments so we think they enjoyed it.
