Geum Rivale (Water Avens)

A year ago this plant was no bigger than three or four inches tall, in a tiny pot. We did not know what it would do. It was a throw away from a nursery and had no label. We thought we would give it a chance.

Wow, at 6.48 precisely this morning, it was eighteen inches tall and bursting with flower heads, ready to do their thing.

Stuff seems to thrive in our rocky hillside garden...who knows how or why. All I do is water things when they seem too dry. ...

This particular plant is said to be ideal for pond edges, damp meadows and wet woodland areas!  Here it is in a gravel and rock bed and gets watered,  occasionally. Go figure, as they say in the land of the  oppressed free...

In my extra is a whole lot of disgusting rubbish that my good wife picked up on her way home from shopping. Because that's the kind of person she is.

People who stop at lay-bys and throw their trash into a hedge should be hunted down and  bea.....given a jolly good talking  to.

Have a good Friday one and all, and let's just try to get on eh?
