Deer Me...

During our morning walk, the Big White Dog and I were treated to a fleeting visual treat.Two young deer were just ahead of us.They paused momentarily and then bounded across the street, leaping over a five foot chain link fence like it wasn't even there, they disappeared into a heavy wooded area behind some houses. Fletcher didn't even attempt to chase them. I guess that he was as surprised as I was. 
The deer population in our area has exploded during the last few years. Their natural predators are gone and sadly, vehicles on busy streets are some of the only things keeping their numbers even remotely in check.
