Two halves

A peaceful scene at Cramond foreshore on a sunny Wednesday evening after truly a day of two halves.

Tremendous morning spent at fire & rescue hq with some hugely positive and fun colleagues in a voluntary sector role… then several hours with a very senior colleague from my workplace, who is experiencing horribly similar toxic undermining and other attrition tactics to those I’ve been coping with.

We walked, talked, and shared our trust in each other, and felt stronger for the inevitable showdown which is coming. Neither of us ever thought we’d be feeling this way about an organisation we’ve both given >20 years to, and which has such vital public protection duties. It’s been a shockingly dreadful change in such a short time, almost entirely down to foul and incompetent top leadership.

Neither of us is weak, and both of us are influential, but we’re absolutely jiggered fighting to do the right thing.
