Newhaven lighthouses

Meeting at the Portrait Gallery first thing; the cafe was quiet. Sheila Chapman, who did the illustrations for my father's Nature Notes , now has a copy of the paper printing of the book.  

Didn't make time to go round the exhibition; had another call for Civtech and followup from Tuesday's session. Also reviewed papers for another board meeting. 

Afternoon walk to Newhaven harbour, then around to Western Harbour. There was an eider procession going the other way; adult male, adult female and 5 eider ducklings, making way just beyond the edge of the sea defense. Three swans at the ponds, no sign of nesting. 

Back by tram. Still not warm, 12C and a NE wind, but pleasantly sunny.
