Herding the cows?
WEDNESDAY
Another warm and sunny day.
The village is buzzing with activity as preparations continue for tomorrow’s VE Day anniversary celebrations. Military silhouettes and hand-knitted poppies have appeared in various corners, adding a lovely touch of remembrance and community spirit. The most striking, in my opinion, is the Tremeirchion War Memorial, now beautifully adorned with hundreds of poppies (see extras).
Celebrations will come together tomorrow: flags will be raised at 9:00am, and the church bell will ring out at 6:30pm. Later in the evening, the Lamp Light of Peace will be lit at 9:30pm, followed by a sing-along at the community pub.
On another note, this afternoon, I returned the courtesy car and picked up my own, which has spent the better part of a week at the dealers for a new wet-belt and a service. Just over £1,800 for the privilege.
