Pond life

I am fascinated by the life in the pond. This is the creature I had thought was a dragonfly larvae, when looking more closely it is not. It is actually a Great Diving beetle larvae. These are ferocious beasts that can eat small fish with those huge jaws. They can certainly eat tadpoles of which I have only a few.
