Coast to Coast
What a crazy day. It started off fine. Our efforts yesterday allowed us a stress free shift to completion at the Black Isle site.
Then there was a call.
In truth I had been uncomfortable about the nature of our briefing for a job out west. I had taken copious notes from a crackly phone conversation and was of the view I had the concepts of the client’s needs. Highly unusual but no email or other correspondence was received to offer any corroboration and the client could not be reached in pursuance of this. The client did not have email so I had no option to offer my interpretation of his words back to him. There was however some urgency to it and the site survey went ahead at the end of last week. To score Brownie points I processed it and sent the files on over the weekend.
You know what's coming next.
A zone of the site which was clearly excluded, from what was discussed, had now become a pivotal bit of topography to the project.
In this situation post mortems about who said what are of little constructive benefit; though I believe lessons need to be learned and taken on board. I simply needed to get the data and sort other things out later.
I could never have envisaged a shift where I could be in the Black Isle and then the Corran Ferry going west on the same day. The two sites are about a hundred miles apart.
I’m home now, tired but with an abundance of data around the key area.
Tomorrow, after my cad processing, I’m going to have a look on ebay for a crystal ball, a really big one, and a couple of eight day weeks.
I was going to call this blip The Yellow Black Isle. The file isn’t big by any means but it seems to view well in large.
