ARNSIDE
A very early start this morning. We cajght the 7.20 train as the next one would only just get me there in time and I wouldn't like to guarantee that the trains would either run or be on time. There were actually about 6 or 7 other people waiting for that train, unusual for Kents Bank, or more likely unusual for me being that early!!
This was the Manchester Airport train and was one of their new trains and very smart. On arrival in Lancaster we to Bob and Berts for Breakfast (I chose what looked like a small portion, but it wasn't still it was very nice and Hubby finished off mine for me!!)
I had an early morning appointment at the Breast Care Unit with one of the Specialists there, Dr VJ - a really lovely lady. It was just a follow up appointment. She did an examination and was very pleased with the progress.
I was then advised that in about 10-12 weeks time I will get a letter or phone call inviting me to attend an Education Session either at Lanaster or in Barrow. It's kind of like a therapy session where there are about 10 other women who have all gone through breast cancer and come out the other side. The idea being to share tips, give each other support, and learn what else you can do to help yourself moving forward. I think I'm interested in attending and if my very humble attendance would help others that has got to be a good thing. Other than that I will now just have my yearly breast screenings starting around the same time of the ear that I had the surgery. I have been given loads of phone numbers so if I have any concerns at all I can call at any time for support and/or advice, and this was very much emphasised that they are still there for me. Amazing service.
I ended up going in early and coming out 10 minutes before I was due to go in!!!??
We went straight back to the station and had about 40 minutes to wait fo the next train. This train was the Lancaster to Carlisle train, advertised as the Cumbrian Coast train. Well what a difference, it was very old stock, only 2 carriages and the windows on the outside were in need of either replacing or cleaning. Considering that train is going all the way to Carlisle I thought it was bad to put such a small old train on. It's the reason I haven't done that coastal train trip asthere would be no toilet facilities for such a long journey - no good for me. Aah well never mind, they still ran on time today and got to and from where I needed to be.
I took a couple of photos on the way to Lancaster, so about 7.30 in the morning, going over the Arnside Viaduct, wasn't sure which one was best so I've put the other in extras.
That's all from me for today, do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
