first of the crop

i came back up on friday (after a morning off work as it was still pouring with rain) with a box of my dad's strawbs and a bag of peas - he donned the waterproofs to pick them when the rain eased off to heavy drizzle especially, aww! - but today i finally got my own!

ok, there's only one, but considering the lack of sunshine i'm glad to even get one. last year's ripened in batches big enough to eat - pray for sunshine and i might yet get a bowlful!
