Downy Woodpecker
Tongue Tuesday! Caught this Downy Woodpecker with his tongue still out as he eats peanut butter suet at the feeder. :-)
I absolutely soaked all the garden tubs this morning as the lack of rain continues. I gave my indoor plants a good watering too.
This lack of rain certainly isn’t helping the fire fighters who have been working to try and contain the wildfire near Boiling Springs Lake. It’s been out of control for days now. If someone up there is listening, we could use some rain, please!!
The Keeter girls came to see me and I cut them some roses and carnations to take home. In exchange they picked me some dandelions. ;-)
Today was quarterly bug spray day and Darrell was smart enough to come look for out back when I didn’t answer the front door. Yay! He did the spraying inside and outside and I sprayed the rafters of the porch to deter the carpenter bees and four toothed mason wasps that like to drill holes in them. For some reason they are particularly bad this year.
I don’t like doing anything to kill them, so just spray the rafters to deter them from liking them as a place to bore holes.
I have four garden tubs with the African Blue Basil that actually attracts them along with the honeybees and bumblebees, so I am feeding them!
