Why do people go to museums?
M is a volunteer guide at the Burrell museum in Glasgow and this morning he had the inevitable question from a group of Americans: “How did Sir William Burrell make his money?” and they were told – He joined his father and brother in the family business as a shipping merchant, and through clever investments, made a fortune allowing him to pursue his passion for art and antiques.
