Here endereth the umpteenth lesson.

3D printing is some way away from an exact science.  The Ender 3v2 printer is some way away from robust.

Don't get me wrong; for what it does and the price it sells at, it's an incredible piece of kit.  However, some of the components fail as a matter of course, and are first on everyone's list of bits to replace almost immediately.  

I had thought I'd been lucky and that they might have fixed the quality of this part as it had lasted a few years.  Apparently not.
