A wonderful wildlife walk!
After the promised overnight frost melted it was hot and sunny all day. The loch had all the usual birds and flowers, Slavonian Grebe, Little Grebe,(extra:) pair of Mute Swans, Coot and gulls. Bogbean and Marsh Marigolds grew along the edges and the trees were full of Sedge and Willow Warblers, Chiffchaffs, Yellowhammers, Bullfinches and Chaffinches. At the dragonfly pools in the woods were Large red damselflies and three Four spotted chasers, just beginning to emerge. Small White butterflies were on the. Islets and Orangetips on the Cuckoo flowers. What a wealth this small area holds in Spring! Fine views of Ben Wyvis too!
