Last tulip!
This is the last tulip in the garden. The orange ones in the pot, which were lovely at Easter, are now nearly over.
This is the only one coming up in this bed where we once had a several mixed tulips planted. I loved the way the sun this morning was giving the petals a wonderful sheen so I’ve given it the spotlight of today’s blip. Sad that they are over for another year.
In the background are lots of Forget me Nots which will no doubt be spent when we get back from Scotland in a couple of weeks and I will be pulling them out!
In their place are some yellow alliums and agapanthus leaves coming through.
The purple alliums are appearing and the one nearest to flowering is almost hidden in the shade behind a fir tree. The other purple in the bed is an azalea that used to be electric in colour at this time but now has just a few flowers and sadly needs to come out.
Pilates this morning. Beautiful sunshine but really cold out of the sun but the temperature was just right for a bit of gardening. More weeding of the block paved patios. I hate doing it and this is my second time this year. I struggle with the top one as many of the plants are actually Erigeron daisies which I love, so how many to pull out and how many to leave?
The birdsong that accompanied me in the garden was a delight.
Packing to finish now, hope some of this sun comes with us!
